Do you play board games? Have you ever wanted to make one and wondered where to start? In this workshop, participants will study the formal foundations of game/ system/ interactive play design (economies, flow states, feedback loops). They will create and iterate on two non-digital games of different genres and learn how to integrate their own artistic practices and ideas into a quickly growing medium.

Allison Cole – bio
I’m an artist and game designer from Montreal with an MFA in Interactive Digital Media from New York University. I got my start making digital games with Tweed Couch Games, but have settled into my true love: playful immersive theatre. Anytime I can rig an Arduino to surprise you, I will. I am currently working at on Anthology of Intimacy, a series of Live Action Roleplays about intimacy created through collaborative design. I teach Game Design at Sheridan College.
