Description

This interactive, four-session course will explore the fundamentals of writing short fiction. Two hours a week, we will delve into a different element of style, including: setting, character development, dialogue and description.

Students will be asked to submit a short piece of writing to the instructor prior to each class.

In the second half of each lesson, everyone will read aloud from their submitted work and receive in-depth feedback from the instructor and their peers.

Testimonials

“I learned a lot and felt challenged and motivated every week. The writing exercises and homework were great, and helped me get into a mindset where I worked on short stories for most of each week, rather than just during the workshop.”

“I did learn a lot in the workshop. It was a welcoming, safe, and supportive space to share work. Excellent encouraging feedback. I think the amount zoom time and feedback I got from the instructor was exceptional given the low cost of the workshop.”

“Eva is such a great instructor and facilitator and the overall structure of course as well as the form of each class/meeting was a great way to meet the goals of the workshop.”
