Description
In this four-week class, students will create 4 expressive paintings while learning watercolour techniques and ways to include unusual mediums with watercolour. “Expressive” creation in art focuses on showing an emotion or an idea, as opposed to creating a “finished” artwork that looks a specific way.
The class is taught through instructor demos, observing works by other artists, and learner-instructed experimentation. The learning outcomes throughout the four classes include:
- Creating a contour line drawing
- Creating basic washes with watercolour (Such as flat wash, wet on wet, wet on dry)
- Incorporating mediums found in the kitchen into watercolor painting
- Gaining inspiration for creating mixed media artwork with watercolor
